- Located in Jefferson County, Oregon, the GCL Oregon project has a 50.2MW DC capacity. It consists of 4 single sub-projects with 1850kwh/kwp annual yield that have an estimated energy production of 92,900 MWh per year. Two additional sub-projects will reach their commercial operation dates (COD) in July and November 2018. "This is another significant milestone for GCL New Energy in the US, after the grid connection of our 83MW project in North Carolina," said Frank Zhu, Executive President of GCL New Energy. "We will continue to aggressively expand our presence in the US as we strive to bring green, renewable power to more and more people." Work on the GCL Oregon project started in November 2017, and almost right away the management team encountered many difficulties in the construction process, such as the site's complex geological structure, harsh weather conditions, and having to do the site geological survey all over again after discovering suspected Native American cultural relics in the area. To ensure the quality, timely delivery, and safety of the project, GCL followed stringent industry and construction standards. Completion of the first phase of this 50MW project shows GCL's strength in overseas project development, construction, and management. It also further enriches the Company's experience in developing high quality overseas solar installations. About GCL New Energy, Inc.
