JA Solar's YTD module shipments to India reach 1GW in 2017
- The 1GW of modules shipped to India represents electricity generation capacity of approximately 1.7 billion kWh, which can reduce carbon emissions by 1.47 million tons annually. This also marked a key milestone in promoting the development of new energy in the country. Since its first module shipment to India in 2011, JA Solar has expanded quickly in the region by establishing strategic partnerships with local developers, EPC companies, independent power producers, and other important partners. The Company believes that the excellent quality and high reliability of its modules, combined with its strong financial position and broad global sales and service network continue to drive market acceptance and earn excellent reputation among customers. JA Solar achieves this quality by leveraging its advanced production lines and extensive R&D laboratories. For instance, with its world-class cell production technology and scale, JA Solar is the first company in the world to apply double-printing technology to all cell manufacturing lines. The Company also achieved 100% mass-production of PID-resistant cells and double-85 anti-PID for all modules. In addition, its best-in-class components enable its modules to pass long-term reliability and environmental endurance tests. JA Solar modules deliver outstanding performance in the various harsh environments that characterize the India market. "India is emerging as one of the world's largest PV markets, and JA Solar is well-positioned to continue to gain market share in the region. We remain focused on pursuing further innovation in solar PV technology to increase cell and module efficiency even further. We believe this will enable us to continue to provide our customers with high-reliability modules and superior service," said Mr. Baofang Jin, Chairman and CEO of JA Solar. JA Solar is a world-leading manufacturer of silicon wafers, cells and modules used in solar PV systems. By the end of 2017, its production capacity for each of these categories is expected to reach 3 GW, 6.5 GW and 7 GW respectively. Founded in 2005, JA Solar has cumulative shipments of over 25GW. The company does business in more than 100 countries around the world.
