Europe's Largest Celebration of Film Soundtracks, the 9th Film Music Festival, to be Held in Krakow This May

World premieres of electronica and symphony film motifs  The alterFMF Gala: Drone Sounds on 27th May will feature famous motifs by composers who have been dubbed the new wave of Hollywood film music: Joseph Trapanese (Divergent Series: Allegiant, Insurgent) who collaborated with Daft Punk and the M83 project on Tron: Legacy and Oblivion; Cliff Martinez, former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, composer of minimalist arrangements for Drive, Only God Forgives and The Neon Demon, combining electronica and symphonic music; and Jóhann Jóhannsson, the prominent contemporary composer, writer of the Oscar-nominated score for TheTheory of Everything and suites for Sicario and Prisoners. Animations, Indiana Jones andThe Witcher- three great concertsatthe monumental TAURON Arena.  The Film Music Gala: Animations will feature masters of animated film music John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Ice Age 2: Meltdown) and Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia), as well as pieces from Pocahontas, Frozen, Smurfs and Angry Birds: The Movie. Raiders of the Lost Arkwith live music composed by John Williams will be shown on 29th May, on the 35th anniversary of its premiere. The famous Raiders March which opens the soundtrack is the second most recognisable film motif of all time, surpassed only by the Star Wars theme. On 30th May, the festival finale will feature the Video Game Show:TheWitcher 3: Wild Hunt - a joint project by the Krakow Festival Office and CD Projekt RED, publisher of the cult game. The Witcher is one of the most recognisable video game characters in the world, and the game is one of the most successful made in Poland, with over 6 million copies sold in the first 6 weeks, making it the most recognisable Polish brand in the world.
